Spring Trunk Show 2013

Last month, some of my fellow small-business mamas and I came together for a spring trunk show. I had all of the best intentions for this event, but time ran simply away from me.  Before I knew it, it was the week of the show and I had very little inventory (YIKES!)

Somehow, though, when everything was laid out, my table didn't look as empty as I had feared. (Thank goodness!)  It was one of our smaller events, but it turned out lovely nonetheless.

My fabric necklaces were a hit this time around.  I find it so amusing how certain items sell out at one event and are completely overlooked at the next!  That's why I have such a variety!!

I debuted some flannel burp cloths and those were popular as well.  I think I only returned home with only 2 burp cloths out of the 15 I brought.  The necktie applique burp cloths sold out!  <3

Mustachio coin purses, anyone??

I adore getting together with these ladies!!  We have already started discussing a back-to-school event...keep your eyes peeled!

Third Annual Shop and Sip Holiday Trunk Show

Hi friends!  Remember me?  ;)

I'm sorry I've been missing in action.  Moving is tough!  So is living with relatives!  I won't even get into my daily routine, because honestly, it's late and I am tired enough already!

I hope you all have had an amazing new year so far!  I'm planning to rock the heck out of 2013!  Who's with me??

I know this is a little late, but I wanted to share some photos from the 2012 Shop and Sip Holiday Trunk Show.  This is the third year I have co-hosted this totally fab handmade shopping event.  My homie (and then partner-in-crime) Autumn and I hosted the first ever Shop and Sip in 2010 when AquaSeventy6 was mostly a dream.  In 2011, my friend and former neighbor Marcy and I co-hosted the second Shop and Sip.  This year, Shop and Sip had four lovely co-hosts: Marcy of Kaiya Designs, Kara of Simply Vintage Candles, Jasmine of R & E Avenue and, of course, yours truly.

I have to apologize in advance for the quality of these photos.  One day we will splurge on a professional photographer, but for now, my handy-dandy iPhone will have to suffice!  :)

Here's my table.  Do you remember this Rag Ribbon Table Skirt?
I made over 115 items!

I spy some Elephant Karavan Pillows!

My Mustachio Coin Purses sold out!

Fabric Button Jewelry is always a big hit!

I only made three of these Christmas trees, and one lovely client bought them all!

Loved meeting all of these beautiful shoppers!

What I loved most about this show is that it was also a toy drive for Toys for Tots!

Here we are surrounded by all of the wonderful toy donations!  AH-MAH-ZING!
Have you attended any of our Holiday Shop and Sips?  Tell me in the comments!  xx

My First Virginia Vendor Night

I participated as a vendor in a local event last night.  For those of you who have ever been part of the "craft show" scene, you know these can be hit or miss.  Some shows have way too many vendors, others not enough (although I prefer the latter!)  They are time consuming, there is usually a participation cost, as well as the cost of the supplies you wouldn't normally need when selling online (shopping bags, receipt books, etc).  Because of this, I tend to stay away from traditional "craft shows", and lean more toward smaller venues or host my own trunk shows with 2 or 3 other vendors.

The good thing about EVERY show is that you meet some amazing people!  Last night I met some of the sweetest ladies since moving to Virginia!  They helped make my evening a success, even though sales were slower than I had hoped.

Here is my vendor table.  Yes, I brought way too many items!  On a brighter note, these will make up my new Etsy inventory!

Here I am waiting for the customers to arrive.  (Thank you PicMonkey!)

A close-up of some of my inventory (these were on the fly with my iPhone, so sorry they are kind of blurry!):

I was able to catch a few snapshots of some of my customers...

There was a raffle at the end of the evening, and I was so excited to see how many people added their ticket to try to win my prize! Congrats Catherine!

I had a great time last night!  Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table!

Tampa Trunk Show and an Announcement

Happy 2012, my beautiful friends!  I am so sorry that it has taken me a whole 6 days into the new year to wish you well!  Also, I am even more sorry that it has been almost an entire month since my last post!!

What a crazy holiday season it has been!! I spent the entire month of December making items for AquaSeventy6's final trunk show of 2011, in Tampa, Florida.  After a 12 hour drive, and three days of last minute preparation, I am happy to announce that the show was a success!

It was such a pleasure to put this show together with my friend, Marcy, owner of K.a.i-y.a. Designs!

Here is the AquaSeventy6 table!
Checkbook Covers, Everything Pocuhes, Key Rings, and Headbands.
Button Pendant necklaces, Cuff Bracelets, He Loves Me Brooches and Hair Clips, Business Card/ID Holders, and more Headbands.
Ruffled Wreath, Felt Wine Bag and Clutches.
Fabric and Bead Necklaces and Scrappy Scarf Necklaces.

Here is the K.a.i-y.a. Designs table.  The Superhero tees and onesies were a BIG HIT!
Just look at these super cute headbands and reindeer tees!
I actually wanted this adorable Christmas skirt and top combo for myself!
Our hubbies took over as bartenders for the evening.
Sangria Terreo was number one on the menu!
After a long, yet productive evening, Marcy and I
were finally able to pose for a photo!
I wish I would have photographed some of our guests, but by the time Marcy and I came up for air, the crowd had dwindled down, and our tables were sparse! We were very, very blessed.  Thanks to all of you who joined us that evening!!

Finally, I wanted to take a moment to announce some changes here at AquaSeventy6:

I started this blog in 2010 in conjunction with my very good friend, Autumn, who shares my passion for second-hand, refurbished, vintage and handmade items.  Together we featured our DIY projects, tutorials and our handmade items for sale.  As of January 2012, we decided that we each had so much to share that we would divide and conquer.  I will keep you updated on Autumn's journey and link her new site as soon as its up and running.

Autumn, your contribution to our site will be greatly missed, but I can't wait to see how you transform your skill and passion into another beautiful endeavor.  Love you tons!

Trunk Show Preview: Fabric Button Pendants

It's such a beautiful Sunday morning here in Richmond, Virginia!  Cold and not a cloud in the sky!  THIS is how I like to do winter!

I'll be heading back to my hometown in FL soon to spend some time with my family, as well as to co-host a holiday trunk show with my good friend and former neighbor, Marcy who is the creator of K.a.i-y.a. Designs.

Autumn's TN trunk show last month was a huge success and she's been busy filling orders.  Because my show is so close to Christmas (and is actually on the first night of Hanukkah), I have to focus on physical inventory, which has been no easy task.  Thankfully, I just LOVE what I do!

My kids have been very patient with me and my hubby has even helped me out with some ironing.   With their support, I've been able to come up with some fun new accessories to present at the show, which I have been featuring here on our blog and on our Facebook page.

Today I am going to show you some of my newest pendant necklaces.

I can't tell you how much I adore when my clients see my previews on the Facebook page and call dibs on certain pieces.  Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, especially since I truly make each and every item with SO MUCH LOVE in my heart!  xoxo--Yvette

TN Trunk Show

Shopping and orders and wine - oh my!
Last week's trunk show was a blast. An awesome group of women came to my house to peruse all the Aqua goodies, enjoy each other's company and I think I mentioned wine (10 bottles to be exact!).

Before the good times starting rollin' I snapped some photos of my living-room-turned-shop.

All the items in their glory. So many found good homes with lovely ladies!

Colorful Checkbook Covers

In the age of online bill pay and debit cards, our poor checkbooks barely see the light of day.  (Remember your first set of checks?  Mine were "Precious Moments"!)  Even though a box of checks lasts me longer than the calendar on the back of the register book, I wanted to give my checkbook a little "sprucing up".   I made myself a cute little checkbook cover and lo and behold, other people liked it!

It turns out that I am not the only one who still carries my checkbook on me at all times "just in case".  Just in case, what?  I don't know...just in case I leave my debit card in my other jeans after using it to pump gas the day prior (this has happened to me more than once!)  Just in case the credit card machine is down at the grocery store.  Just in case my kids remind me as I am dropping them off that field trip money is due TODAY!

So here are some of the checkbook covers I have designed.  These will be at our trunk shows, but you can always order by clicking on the email tab on our sidebar.
